Convinti di sbarcare sul pianeta deserto Ceti Alpha VI, per controllare se sia adatto alla sperimentazione del segretissimo Progetto Genesis, il capitano Terrell (Paul Winfield, il Ten. Traxler di Terminator) e il tenente Chekov scendono per errore su Ceti Alpha V, dove vengono catturati da Khan Noonien Singh e dai suoi seguaci, che lì furono abbandonati molti anni prima dal comandante Kirk. Sul pianeta, reso arido e inospitale da una imprevedibile catastrofe cosmica, hanno trovato la morte molti degli esuli, inclusa Marla McGivers, l'ufficiale della Federazione che aveva deciso di condividere il destino di Khan. Divorato dal desiderio di vendetta, con i pochi compagni superstiti Khan si impadronisce della nave Reliant, e fa rotta sul laboratorio spaziale Regula 1 dove una equipe di scienziati, sotto la guida della dottoressa Carol Marcus e di suo figlio David, ha messo a punto Genesis, una specie di colossale bomba molecolare che ha la capacità di rigenerare la materia a livello subatomico, riconfigurandone la struttura secondo modelli vitali... in pratica "creare la vita dall'assenza di vita". Khan sa dai suoi prigionieri che Kirk è vicino, e accorrerà in soccorso dei ricercatori, ma soprattutto dei suoi cari (la dottoressa Marcus è stata la sua compagna ed il giovane David è suo figlio). Accanto a Regula 1, e poi nella impenetrabile caligine magnetica della Mutara Nebula ha luogo lo scontro, che alla fine vede una malconcia Enterprise prevalere sulla Reliant, da dove, ormai morente, Khan in un ultimo impeto d'odio attiva l'onda Genesis nel tentativo di portare con sè nella morte anche Kirk. Ma il sacrificio di Spock, che riattiva in extremis i motori ultraluce rimanendo mortalmente contaminato dalle radiazioni, consente all'Enterprise di sfuggire alla distruzione. Sulla superficie del nuovo pianeta appena creato si adagia il feretro che custodisce le spoglie del vulcaniano.(my movies.it)

L'équipe de l'Enterprise croise la route de Khan, un vieil ennemi fermement résolu à se venger de l'amiral Kirk qui l'avait banni sur une planète déserte. Pour accomplir son dessein, il s'empare du célèbre vaisseau afin de transporter une arme extrêmement dangereuse qui pourrait détruire la planète Terre. Aveuglés par la haine qu'ils éprouvent l'un pour l'autre, Kirk et Khan vont alors se livrer un combat à mort dont les dommages pourraient s'avérer collatéraux.(allocine)

In the second Star Trek movie, Admiral Kirk is now a Starfleet Academy instructor, while Captain Spock serves as a cadet training officer, while being in command of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Meanwhile, scientists aboard Space Station Regula I are conducting the Project Genesis experiment, and the U.S.S. Reliant is assigned to the Genesis project. While surveying a lifeless planet in the Ceti Alpha star system, Cmdr. Chekov and Capt. Clark Terrell beam down to the sixth planet, and find a shocking discovery, in which cargo containers are located. Unknown to the Reliant crew was that the cargo containers housed refugees from the Eugenics Wars of 1990s Earth, with Khan Noonian Singh in charge. Khan later revealed that Ceti Alpha VI exploded, and shifted the orbit of the fifth planet as a Mars-like haven. Khan manages to hijack the Reliant, and manages to steal the Genesis Device. Admiral Kirk takes the U.S.S. Enterprise on a training mission, and is involved in a surprise attack, in which Khan vows to avenge his exile. Unfortunately, Captain Spock sacrifices himself to save the Enterprise from the premeditated arming of the Genesis torpedo, and after his death, his casket (which is a converted torpedo tube) was fired from the U.S.S.
