Claude Lanzmann, el director de "Shoah", película sobre el exterminio judío, recupera, casi treinta años después, una serie de entrevistas con Benjamin Murmelstein, el último presidente del Consejo Judío del campo de concentración de Theresienstadt. Las entrevistas se grabaron en Roma en 1975 y quedaron fuera del montaje de Shoah. El film narra cómo era en realidad la vida en ese campo de exterminio, que se pretendió presentar como un campo modélico. Las entrevistas nos muestran a Murmelstein como un hombre dotado de una inteligencia deslumbrante, un gran valor y una memoria incomparable que lo convierten en un extraordinario narrador.
