La bella e la bestia ha origini antiche. Narrato da Apuleio, il mito di Amore e Psiche prende forma letteraria nella raccolta di novelle di Giovanni Francesco Straparola ("Le piacevoli notte", 1550), fino ad arrivare all'elaborazione canonica di Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont (1740), che riduce la versione di Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve e la trasforma nella favola moderna che tutti conosciamo.(my movies.it)
